Watch the Hawaiian Koa Video

Hawaiian Koa is by far one of the most exotic and attractive looking tone woods used in guitar construction. Koa comes in a variety of rich golden colors, from light to dark, and often with very strong exceptional and striking grain markings, which set the instrument apart from all others. Sometimes the word “beautiful” is not enough to describe Koa. This beautiful wood is in short supply in the world market. The short supply when combined with fine craftsmanship like the NRS-K (Koa) allows the guitars to maintain and many times increase their value. Koa makes a very balanced sounding guitar -- much of the warmth of rosewood and much of the brightness of mahogany.

Highlighted Features:

The NRS-K is a striking looking instrument finished in a nitro-cellulose lacquer in an elegant Telecaster design. The back and sides are of a non-stained mahogany bound with blond-Flamed Maple. The neck is cut from Flame Maple and the fret board is a carefully chosen piece of Birdseye Maple. The fret markers are of exquisitly radiant abalone and the saddle and nut are hand-cut bone. Waverly tuners known for their top quality are used on all NRS guitars. The bridge, tone and volume buttons are of matching Rosewood and the push pins are of Ebony with striking Mother of Pearl dots.  All NRS Models are equipped with a custom LR Baggs Element System with three-band EQ and a master volume button all center notched. A custom designed case and strap locks are standard with all NRS models and they all weigh approximately 4 lbs.  The NRS is also offered in a 24.9" short scale model.

The NRS-K will set you apart from all other performers instantly when you open the case but once played at full volume people will know there’s a new sheriff in town.
