Good morning, Bob here. Great looking guitars. I especially love the koa top. I think koa is about the most beautiful wood available, but the spruce would probably suit my needs. I do have a couple of question for you. 1) What do you string your guitars with. 2) What are the necks like. I have a Turner Renaissance Deuce, how doe your neck compare with that. By the way, in your acoustic comparrison video are there any differences in mike placement or volume? The reason I ask is that I have my Turner strung with Elixer nano 11's and it doesn't sound that thin even with the electric strings. Any trickery there? 3) Is there any chance of you guys eventually utilizing the D-TAR pickups and or adding an additional pickup option like the Deuce or the Anderson Crowdster. I don't want to seem like I'm trying to hack on your product line but it seems like you could achieve perfection with a quality product that improves on the Turner skinny neck and the weight of the Anderson with the same type of options. JMHO. Looking foreward to hearing from you. Bob.

Hi Bob! Hope you are in great health! Thank you for your questions. I will try to answer to my best. You are on target. The Koa model has been our top selling model. They are beautiful in looks and sound. Your choice in spruce is a good one. We are using Engelmann spruce on the NRS. Spruce tops are workhorses for sure. Here are the answers to your questions. Question 1)We began using Thomastik Infeld strings but switched over to Martin Phosphorus bronze. We like the warm punch these strings deliver. 2) The necks on the NRS were designed for acoustic players. Noel Rosa did not want a thin neck like some electrics. Some companies do this so electric players feel comfortable playing the acoustic thin body. Noel did not want this. He wanted a good girth neck like an acoustic. The NRS has a beautiful semi V in the neck that fits perfect in your hand. As for your question on mic placement? No the mic was not moved nor the volume worked on. There is absolutely no trickery used with EQ or volume. The mic was in the same place and the same volume for all guitars used in the video. The NRS really is that loud. We actually had a problem at that shoot. The engineer was using headphones and was comfortable with the competitors guitars when Noel strummed the NRS he about came out of his skin and almost screamed some choice words because the NRS almost blew his eardrums out but we were rolling and he held it in. Afterwards he yelled MAN THAT GUITAR IS LOUD!!! to prove my point please visit Youtube and look for the NRS Califonia Redwood and you will see there is no trickery at all on how loud these guitars are unplugged. pound for pound sound for sound this guitar is a true LOUD acoustic compared to the other thin body guitars. I know you say your turner doesn't sound that thin and I'm happy that you are happy with your turner (rick is an awesome luthier I've owned five of his guitars!) but what you see in the video is what it truly is. 3) The NRS comes equipped with the LRBaggs Element system with 3 band EQ and master volume control. LRBaggs is a wonderful company and puts out a true professional acoustic tone. LR Baggs is known for their cutting edge pickups and electronics. We are proud to have this quality pick up in our NRS guitars. 5) I am not understanding your last comments but I will try my best to answer. you wrote: "I don't want to seem like I'm trying to hack on your product line but it seems like you could achieve perfection with a quality product that improves on the Turner skinny neck and the weight of the Anderson with the same type of options." It is a bit confusing what was written here. I'll start with the skinny neck. Neck sizes are subjective to the player. Some people don't like the neck size on a Taylor but prefer a Martin neck and visa versa. Its all subject to the player but I can say everyone so far has loved the soft V in the NRS neck no complaints. In fact, its one of the first things they comment when they feel the neck. As for the Tom Anderson weight comment. Here's a question for you. Would you rather hold a heavy seven pound guitar around your neck for a two hour concert as you run around the stage or a 3 pound lightweight true acoustic (the Anderson is a solid wood body)? I know what my answer is. The NRS. 3 lbs. that's it! No rubbing the shoulders after a gig anymore! I hope I was able to answer all of your questions as clearly as possible. Again, pound for pound, sound for sound the NRS Rocks! Hope to see you in one at your next gig!
